ACADEMIC ENGLISH PROGRAM FOR RESEARCHERS CONDUCTED BY UNVEST

GENERIC CLARIFICATION AND EXPLICIT CONSENT TEXT

 

a. Data Controller

Pursuant to the Law on the Protection of Personal Data (“LPPD”) Number 6698; your personal data will be able to be processed by the data controller UNVEST (“Institution ”) within the scope clarified below.

 

b. Processing Purposes For The Personal Data

Collected identity data (identity information, place of residence, contact information, student certificate/diploma, bank account information, photograph, if you are going to issue an invoice, tax office information, tax number, company trade name), contact data, and your personal data regarding employment status will be able to be processed; with purposes listed below for which you have disclosed your personal data to the UNVEST, and in accordance with the personal data processing conditions stated in the Articles 5 and 6 of the LPPD:

  • Communicating with the speaker and/or participants before or after the program,
  • Within the context of your status as a potential student, educational activities carried out by UNVEST being conducted
  • Providing information about academic programs, events, offers, and all of our educational processes (bachelor’s level, postgraduate level, doctorate level, training, and certificate programs),
  • Use of personal data for purposes such as research, planning, statistics, evaluation and feedback,
  • Taking the opinion of the data owner through surveys and voting,
  • Operations required for you to benefit the educational services provided by UNVEST to be conducted by our work units and our related work units carrying out necessary operations for the related business processes to be conducted, planning and execution of activities required for offering, suggesting, and introducing the programs and services provided by UNVEST to potential students,
  • In accordance with the decision that you will declare before the program; publishing the photographs, voice, and/or video records taken during the program on the websites and/or social media accounts belonging to UNVEST.

 

c. To Whom and For What Purposes the Processed Personal Data Can Be Transmitted

Your collected personal data will be able to be transmitted to domestic or foreign companies that provide voice and video call services to us, and on your request, to domestic or foreign related educational institutions (Erasmus) in scope of national and international educational cooperation, to the related social media company, and to state institutions and organizations that are authorized by law, for the purposes of; contacting the participants before and after the program, sharing the photographs, voice and/or video records taken during the program on our websites and/or social media accounts, carrying out the activities conducted by UNVEST, in context with your status as a potential student; providing information about academic programs, events, offers, and all of our educational processes (bachelor’s level, postgraduate level, doctorate level, training and certificate programs);  Operations required for you to benefit the educational services provided by UNVEST to be conducted by our work units and our related work units carrying out necessary operations for the related business processes to be conducted; planning and execution of activities required for offering, suggesting, and introducing the programs and services provided by UNVEST to potential students, in accordance with the personal data processing conditions and purposes specified in the Articles 8 and 9 of the LPPD.

ç. Method and Legal Reason for Collecting Personal Data

Your personal data is collected physical and/electronic domains inside UNVEST and in domains where all kinds of training services, program, and promotions are provided by UNVEST, for the legal reasons stated in the Clauses (b) and (c) of hereby Clarification Text. Your personal data collected for this legal reason can also be processed and transmitted with the purposes stated in the (b), (c) clauses of this Clarification Text, in the framework of the personal data processing conditions and purposes specified in the Articles 5 and 6 of the LPPD.

d. Your Rights Listed in Article 11 of the LPPD

As personal data owners, in the event of you forwarding your requests regarding your rights, to UNVEST using the kisiselverilerim@ku.edu.tr e-mail address or via other methods given below, specified by Article 13 of the LPPD; your request will be brought to a conclusion free of charge and as soon as possible, in thirty days at the latest according to the nature of the request. Nevertheless, in the event of the process requiring an additional expense, fee stated in the price list determined by the Protecting the Personal Data Committee will be collected by UNVSET. In this context, the personal data owners possess the rights to;

  • Learn whether personal data has been processed or not,
  • Request information about it if your personal data has been processed,
  • Learn the purpose of processing the personal data and whether the data has been used in accordance with the purpose,
  • Know the domestic or foreign third-parties to whom the personal data was transmitted,
  • Demand correction in the event of the personal data has been processed inadequately or incorrectly and to request the process conducted in this scope to be notified to the third parties to whom the personal data was transmitted,
  • Demand the personal data to be deleted or destroyed in the event of the reasons requiring the data to be processed disappearing despite the data was processed in accordance with the Law Number 6698 and other related provisions of the law and to request the process conducted in this scope to be notified to the third parties to whom the personal data was transmitted,
  • Protest a result that has been emerged against the person by means of the processed data being exclusively analyzed via automatic systems,
  • Demand indemnification of the loss in the event of suffering a loss due to the personal data being processed against the law.

 

To use your rights in the scope stated above, you can make an application by;

  • Sending an e-mail to kisiselverilerim@ku.edu.tr with a secure e-signature,
  • Sending an e-mail to the UNVEST registered e-mail address from registered e-mail address belonging to you, with a secure e-signature,
  • Applying in person with an original signed petition,
  • With a petition containing identification made by the Notary.

 

With regards to the electronic messages (SMS, calls, or e-mails) sent pursuant to the approval duly received from you before in accordance with the Law on the Regulation of Electronic Commerce Number 6563 and the Related Secondary Legislation; if you do not want to get information about the academic programs, events, offers, and all of our educational processes (bachelor’s level, postgraduate level, doctorate level, training, and certificate programs) provided by UNVEST; you can forward your request via the kisiselverilerim@ku.edu.tr e-mail channel.
